Construction and Renovation Project
Capital Campaign reaches 85% of goal, thanks to a recent USDA grant
Hickman Community Hospital is an anchor of health care for the tri-counties of Hickman, Perry and Lewis. A key $200,000 grant from the United States Department of Agriculture, Rural Development Grants Program was recently awarded to Hickman Community Hospital towards the construction and renovation capital campaign.
Private foundations, individual donors, and federal grants have raised over $2.8 million for the project, which will allow for a 6000 sq. ft. expansion and a 5000 sq. ft. renovation of the community hospital. A special project blessing will be held on April 19, 2010 and the project completion target date is September 24, 2010.
Specific projects of the capital campaign include:
- Modernization of the hospital's facility with a new physical design that will foster the flow of care and patient comfort.
- Creation of a new hospital wing that will allow for ER expansion and will house a suite for state of the art digital Radiology, CT, Ultrasound, and Bone Density equipment. The new ER facility will accommodate 5 to 6 patients at one time.
- Three-fold increase in our Physical and Respiratory Therapy space.
- Provision of a new family chapel for your spiritual comfort and solace.
- Creation of a sub specialty clinic area for use by our nine visiting specialists.
